Thanks for stopping by!

I love to celebrate beautiful things!   My interests include anything crafty, colorful and fun!  I love to travel, cook, craft, design, create, entertain, decorate, sew..and the list goes on.  Stunning images inspire me and I hope I can share a few things here that will inspire you too!

I have always loved photographs.  My grandma has always taken a million pictures and it inspired me from a young age.  With my first 110 camera I captured fun memories of family vacations and everyday activities.  Since having kids my focus has turned to the art of the portrait.  In my eyes the "perfect" portrait doesn't mean a creaseless shirt and stiff poses, but instead a twinkle in the eye and a glimpse into the soul.

My specialty is children.  I love to capture them in their natural element.  I want to capture who your child is at this moment.  The little noses, funny smiles and dirt covered faces that make them the person that they are right now.

My approach is VERY relaxed...very "photo journalistic."  I'm not a girl that likes to pose.  My idea of a perfect shoot is to meet you somewhere fun and let your kids play and be themselves while I fade into the background.  I believe it's those moments that you truly want to remember.   Anyone can take a picture.  I want to capture a moment and tell a story.

I'd LOVE to come play with your little ones.  Think of a place where they are happiest.  Disneyland? Chuck E Cheese?  Krispy Kreme?  Think outside the box.  Let's get together and let them explore, get dirty and have some fun!  Those WILL be your cherished memories!

everyday life: wild weather

it has been a wild couple of days around here.  whipping wind, hail, cold temperatures (well, ok, cold for us), rain, thunder, lightning, and then this yesterday…

tornado warning web

WHAT???  I was watching fox news (i’m a total news junkie) when the national weather service interrupted the broadcast and gave us a tornado warning!   They kept saying get to your basement and I’m thinking…”hello!  this is CA…we don’t have basements!!”

poor little Andy was in hysterics.  I didn’t even know that he knew what a tornado was…but apparently so. :)   he kept screaming “we’re going to get sucked up!!  we’re going to get sucked up!!”  it was slightly amusing — ;) poor little guy.   so i got on the internet to research the signs of a tornado only find that we had experienced three of the five.  while i was reading it everything all of a sudden went dead calm.  no more wind, no more rain.  it was wierd.  it was sign number 4.  GREAT!

tornado

needless to say we didn’t have any trouble, but some of our neighbors up a little bit north of us right by John’s office did see this real live twister.  it did minimal damage and no one was hurt…but how WILD!!  we’re supposed to have earthquakes, not tornadoes!! :)   we’re in for more crazy weather as the biggest of the storms moves in today and tomorrow…we’ll see what that brings. :)

hope you are having a great day!

January 20, 2010 - 9:44 am scrappysue - Oh my gosh Tammy, I am absolutely freaked out by the thought of Tornado's, I would have been a bit like Andy probably! We had a tornado warning when we were in Calgary in the summer, I was more than a little worried to be honest. Stay safe!

January 20, 2010 - 1:04 pm Kristi - We've had the same stuff here up the road about 3 hrs. Crazy weird in CA. I was laughing that our emergency system would even have that type of warning here in this state. My 7 yr old freaked out too, started crying. I told him they said some of the conditions are there but they haven't seen one yet. Then told him where to go in our house if it did come. Total crazy for CA. I've been in one devastating one at night while alone with my daughter years ago and it was very scary. We hid in the bathroom under the stairs, but it was in TN. Good luck!

January 20, 2010 - 6:11 pm lindsie hazen - WHAT? Crazy. Too bad I missed that one.
