orange county baby photographer: sweet savannah

this weekend we had the chance to run up to my brother’s again and see sweet little savannah. it’s amazing how fast these little ones change. we had just seen her 6 days ago, the day she was born, and she already looked different to me! andy and ashley hadn’t been allowed to see her in the hospital so they had been anxiously awaiting a return trip where they could get a glimpse at her and get to hold her. i was able to snap a few shots of the cute new family too. having had c-sections, it always amazes me when I see these new moms who are up and at it looking fab just days after delivery. cute whitney was definitely looking amazing. i know she’s only days old, but can we count this as her first smile looking at mom???

it is so fun to see my brother as a dad. it’s hard to believe he is one, since i always think of him as being so young…i guess that just means i’m old. there is something so sweet about a daddy daughter relationship…

this little one is definitely in a home full of love.

i got the chance to spend a fun saturday evening with this darling family. these girls are seriously the cutest…big sister wasn’t too sure about me, but little sister was sure all giggles for the camera!! how can those big brown doll eyes not capture a piece of your heart??? i’m sure glad that i have gotten the chance to get to know this great little family more over the last few months. here’s a chance for you to get to know them a little better too. enjoy!

can i say photogenic??? i was having such a hard time choosng what to share…i’ll stop here and save some suprises for mom in her gallery.

Orange County Photographer: The GAP Shoot

PERSONALITY. That’s what comes to mind when I think of this family. We are lucky enough to share the end of a cul-de-sac with this fun, spunky, full of life family. Mark and Pam are a party in their own right…then add in three little ones (who were all under three until just a month ago!) and you have some serious fun. When mom informed me that she wanted a “winter and mountains” looking shoot I thought, fun! Then when I saw the kids outfits it took on a whole new meaning. SO cute!! They look like they walked right off the pages of a GAP ad. LOVE it!

Mom started the phone calls about an hour after the shoot, begging to see just a few. She informed me that this was the FIRST time she had ever had to wait to see pictures…and this momma gets a LOT of pictures taken. I have to admit, it was a little fun to torture her. Hopefully it was worth the wait Pam!!

And then the real fun for me. Chasing the kids around!! This is seriously my favorite part of my job. I LOVE capturing kids while they are just being themselves.

this little one gets a little extra blog love…just because I want to sqeeze her every time I see her!!!

Can you tell where these cute kiddos are getting their personlity and zest for life? From this beautiful couple. Mark joked that he had to take pictures like this for their wedding…why now too?? I love to capture a few images of the originals. The ones that started it all and keep it all together everyday.

Orange County Family Photographer: The Hanson Clan

I was so excited to catch up with this cute family last week. I met Renee and couple of years ago when our sons played for the same t-ball team. After talking to her for just a short time at a practice I felt like I had known her forever. She is SO fun and easy going, engaging and just one of those “lights up a room” kind of people. Not to mention totally gorgeous…

I received a phone call from Renee just this morning worrying that she hadn’t seen anything posted. She was afraid that there wasn’t anything blog worthy…don’t worry Renee…I think we found a few. Not to mention the MANY more that will be in your gallery…but I have to save SOME surprises!

It’s no wonder that with a couple like this you get some cute kiddos! We were joking with Nick talking to him about girlfriends trying to get him to smile…there’s no doubt that even though he says he doesn’t have any now…there will be plenty in his future!

Ellie is the middle child. Although she wasn’t a fan of this outfit she sure looks cute in it!

This little cute ball of spunk rounds out the family. I can’t believe I knew her when she was just tiny…they change SO fast!!

Orange County Family Photographer: Old Town San Juan

One of my favorite places to shoot and one of my favorite families…can’t ask for much more than that! I had such a fun time shooting these guys, even though the littlest wasn’t too thrilled to have me following her around with a camera! This color combo was AWESOME!! LOVE the contrast of the navy with those little blonde heads!! Such a good looking fam! Mom’s one request–ONE photo where everyone is looking at the camera…i think we at least got one.

This little cutie was ready at a moments notice. She had a smile on ready to go at all times. LOVE that!! It was too cute!

Little sister didn’t want momma to put her down…and when she tried tears ensued. I know it’s hard right now mom…but one day you’ll miss these days!!

We were able to steal away for a minute for some cute shots of just mom and dad…

Remember what I said about always ready with a smile?? No matter what was happening around her, she was ready!

I’ll save a few suprises for your gallery…but I just had to share one more that will hopefully bring a smile to your face like it did to mine…

Sara & Shane

I can’t believe that I haven’t blogged about IU yet. Sorry to all of you girls that are waiting for pictures…but you’re going to be disppointed!!! I was SO busy I barely took any!! I couldn’t believe it when I got home and realized that! I think I was SO nervous about my classes and shoot that I was just preoccupied! Next year there will be more images than you can handle…deal???
One of my favorite things that I did all weekend was get the chance to hang out with Sara and her cute husband Shane.
Sara contacted me a few months ago and said she was a blog follower…LOVE that! She was excited because her and her hubby were getting the chance to fly out from Illinois and spend a WEEK alone, as a couple. She is the cutest mom. She ran and bought online cameras because she wanted to be able to Skype her boys while she was gone. How cute is that??!! I was so excited to be able to shoot this cute couple…high school sweet hearts! Sara said they had never had pictures done of just the two of them…I hope these fit the bill Sara!!

(check out her super cute shoes!!! I ran to target the next day toget a pair myself!!)

I loved watching these two interact. John and I are high school sweethearts and there is just something about literally growing up with someone else…it forms a bond that is unlike any other…

We didn’t have a ton of time to shoot…both Sara and I had commitments back at the conference and Shane had a date at the poker table! He had been on the strip having fun all day and was very nice to take a few minutes to hang out with me while I made him and Sara engage in some PDA on the strip.

My favorite spot of the day…the bus came JUST as we passed by leaving the benches just for us!

Thanks for spending a few moments with me guys!! It was SO great to meet you both. May the luck of Vegas always be with you both!!

Arizona Photoshoots

Since Thanksgiving life has been running away from me! December always feels like a race to the finish for me. So many get togethers, photo jobs, classroom responsibilities, gifts to be bought, things to be decorated, goodies to bake…etc. I have been having so much fun posting about some of my favorite finds on etsy and elsewhere on the web, but I thought I better take a minute and post a few pictures! I had a wonderful opportunity to meet some super fun families when I was in AZ. We met at a local park and had a few minutes to capture some pictures. Here are a few of my faves..

These kiddos were just too cute and sweet. Love the unposed arm around the back.

This one is one of my all time faves from all o the AZ sessions. If I could descirbe my favorite type of photography, and the way I would like to capture YOUR family, this photo would say it all. Mom thinks I’m taking shots of her kiddos on the merry go round, so she is totally relaxed and relishing the moment watching her babies enjoy themselves. The look on her face…that realxed, there’s nobody watching me, look of just TOTAL happiness is what I strive to explain to everyone. When I tell you go have fun, enjoy each other, spend time talking and laughing and having a good time and pretend I’m not here….THIS is what I’m talking about!!

You know if I’m going to shoot color I want some serious POP!! Imagine my joy when I saw this duo in black and SHOCKING pink shw up!! Too cute!

Always a sucker for a deep contrast black and white!!! I LOVE it.

And these precious shots with all thseitty bitty details. The eyelashes, the button nose…Too Cute!!!

PhotoShoots: My little sister is engaged!

I can’t believe it, my little sister is getting married!! There is some hope for cousins for my kids after all!!

While we were in AZ over Thanksgiving we headed to this AWESOME pecan grove to shoot a few pics for announcements. Here are a few of my faves..

You all know “posed” shots are NOT my favorites, but you have to do at least a few, so I do love this one…simple…

I had a lot of fun making them squirm, telling them to make out in front of me. It is so fun to be a big sister!! I think you have to agree though Pam, all the uncomfortableness (is that a word??) led to great results!

Can’t wait for the big day! Scott we’re so excited to have you as a part of the fam!
