It’s that time of year again!! Time for the yearly family photo for the Christmas card. I am SO glad that I got to shoot this cute family again this year. Last year they moved to Seattle and I really missed them!! If you are in need of a quick shoot for your Christmas card, shoot me an email and we’ll see if we can get something set up for this month. orange county baby photographer: sweet savannah

this weekend we had the chance to run up to my brother’s again and see sweet little savannah. it’s amazing how fast these little ones change. we had just seen her 6 days ago, the day she was born, and she already looked different to me! andy and ashley hadn’t been allowed to see her in the hospital so they had been anxiously awaiting a return trip where they could get a glimpse at her and get to hold her. i was able to snap a few shots of the cute new family too. having had c-sections, it always amazes me when I see these new moms who are up and at it looking fab just days after delivery. cute whitney was definitely looking amazing. i know she’s only days old, but can we count this as her first smile looking at mom???

it is so fun to see my brother as a dad. it’s hard to believe he is one, since i always think of him as being so young…i guess that just means i’m old. there is something so sweet about a daddy daughter relationship…

this little one is definitely in a home full of love.

i got the chance to spend a fun saturday evening with this darling family. these girls are seriously the cutest…big sister wasn’t too sure about me, but little sister was sure all giggles for the camera!! how can those big brown doll eyes not capture a piece of your heart??? i’m sure glad that i have gotten the chance to get to know this great little family more over the last few months. here’s a chance for you to get to know them a little better too. enjoy!

can i say photogenic??? i was having such a hard time choosng what to share…i’ll stop here and save some suprises for mom in her gallery.

everday life: first in july and cute ideas for homemade patriotic t-shirts

i have to laugh. i LOVE the first in july. at least that’s how it’s known in our house thanks to our sweet little ash. fourth of july is first in july. and it’s one of her favorite holidays. as a matter of fact, that is how any patriotic item is known… it is “in july.” if she sees a flag it’s “look mom…there’s an in july flag.” anything red, white and blue “mom, did you see that in july shirt??” it’s just too cute, i know i should correct her, but i’ll let it live on a little longer. my days of all this four year old cuteness around the house are numbered!

we had the best first in july this year. it was a wonderful weekend filled with great friends, too much food, beaches, games, late nights, hot dog and marshmellow roasting, lots of red white and blue, fireworks, freezing waterparks, finishing eachother’s sentences (lol, guys!) and america’s favorite pasttime. it was the perfect way to start the month! and we’re lucky because we get to end it the same way!! hurry back allemans! we are anxiously counting the days until you return!!!

i got the bright idea to make all the kids matching shirts at about 10pm friday night. after a trip to walmart and target to get everyone shirts and supplies, cute and crafty skye arrived to help me finish…thank goodness, otherwise it would have meant going to bed at 4am instead of 2am!! but i do have to say…they turned out so cute!!! thanks to the fun idea from “i am momma, hear me roar” (click for the tutorial) i changed it up a bit for the shirts we were using and think they turned out so fun! and i can’t for the life of me find where i saw the little girls shirts, but it was simply red jersey fabric (an old t-shirt) ruffled up and stitched on to a white t-shirt with a blue square of fabric. so fun! (something’s up with the colors in these and photoshop is being wierd. i’m too lazy to figure it out so they are being posted as is. )

Orange County Photographer: The GAP Shoot

PERSONALITY. That’s what comes to mind when I think of this family. We are lucky enough to share the end of a cul-de-sac with this fun, spunky, full of life family. Mark and Pam are a party in their own right…then add in three little ones (who were all under three until just a month ago!) and you have some serious fun. When mom informed me that she wanted a “winter and mountains” looking shoot I thought, fun! Then when I saw the kids outfits it took on a whole new meaning. SO cute!! They look like they walked right off the pages of a GAP ad. LOVE it!

Mom started the phone calls about an hour after the shoot, begging to see just a few. She informed me that this was the FIRST time she had ever had to wait to see pictures…and this momma gets a LOT of pictures taken. I have to admit, it was a little fun to torture her. Hopefully it was worth the wait Pam!!

And then the real fun for me. Chasing the kids around!! This is seriously my favorite part of my job. I LOVE capturing kids while they are just being themselves.

this little one gets a little extra blog love…just because I want to sqeeze her every time I see her!!!

Can you tell where these cute kiddos are getting their personlity and zest for life? From this beautiful couple. Mark joked that he had to take pictures like this for their wedding…why now too?? I love to capture a few images of the originals. The ones that started it all and keep it all together everyday.

Orange County Family Photographer: The Hanson Clan

I was so excited to catch up with this cute family last week. I met Renee and couple of years ago when our sons played for the same t-ball team. After talking to her for just a short time at a practice I felt like I had known her forever. She is SO fun and easy going, engaging and just one of those “lights up a room” kind of people. Not to mention totally gorgeous…

I received a phone call from Renee just this morning worrying that she hadn’t seen anything posted. She was afraid that there wasn’t anything blog worthy…don’t worry Renee…I think we found a few. Not to mention the MANY more that will be in your gallery…but I have to save SOME surprises!

It’s no wonder that with a couple like this you get some cute kiddos! We were joking with Nick talking to him about girlfriends trying to get him to smile…there’s no doubt that even though he says he doesn’t have any now…there will be plenty in his future!

Ellie is the middle child. Although she wasn’t a fan of this outfit she sure looks cute in it!

This little cute ball of spunk rounds out the family. I can’t believe I knew her when she was just tiny…they change SO fast!!

Orange County Family Photographer: Old Town San Juan

One of my favorite places to shoot and one of my favorite families…can’t ask for much more than that! I had such a fun time shooting these guys, even though the littlest wasn’t too thrilled to have me following her around with a camera! This color combo was AWESOME!! LOVE the contrast of the navy with those little blonde heads!! Such a good looking fam! Mom’s one request–ONE photo where everyone is looking at the camera…i think we at least got one.

This little cutie was ready at a moments notice. She had a smile on ready to go at all times. LOVE that!! It was too cute!

Little sister didn’t want momma to put her down…and when she tried tears ensued. I know it’s hard right now mom…but one day you’ll miss these days!!

We were able to steal away for a minute for some cute shots of just mom and dad…

Remember what I said about always ready with a smile?? No matter what was happening around her, she was ready!

Everyday Life: Halloween Recap

Are you ready for a serious onslaught of pictures?? I hope so!!! Whenever there are little ones in costumes my camera is in overdrive!! Something about all those fun colors…October just makes for the best pictures!! Between the pumpkin patch and trick or treating you just can’t beat it. Papa and Gamma Helen

I have been busy, busy lately!! For us photogs, August through early November is by far the busiest time of year…Holiday Card shoots!! I always love the families that call in early July or August to schedule while they’re all nice and tan! Smart!! By this time of year my tan has almost always faded and I’m nice and pasty again for my cards!! lol!

I got to meet up with one of my most favorite families a few weeks ago for the annual Chistmas card shoot. Papa and gamma Helen as they have become known around our neighborhood are the adoptive grandma and pa of the block. The kids LOVE it when they come for a visit. I love that every year they like to send out a card with a picture of their clan on it. So cute!

This year we had a chance to spend a little extra time shooting and capture a few more moments…

After the kids got a little tired of shooting… (I seriously think all kids feel like doing this to me at one point or another during a shoot!)

We tried to steal away for a minute and get a few of just grandma and grandpa. We found some pretty light.

The kids started getting a little jealous of all the attention that grandma and grandpa were getting and wanted in on the action…

I can only hope I look this good when I’m a grandma!!
