I always try to come up with something fun and unique to give the people I love for their birthdays, Christmas, etc. but it gets harder and harder each year to come up with things! I’ve had several shipments from suppliers come in in the last couple of weeks, and as things have arrived I thought…these look so fun, and I love getting them in the mail, someone else would love them too!! So, I came up with the Birthday in a Box. Everything your loved ones need to celebrate, except you!

Wouldn’t you like to receive something so colorful and fun? Here’s what I included so you can add them to your box too!

colorful cupcake/candy cups

balloons

candles

2 whirly pops

fun straws

cake plates

birthday banner

candy necklaces

m and m’s

cute containers of sprinkles

cupcake toppers

party blowers

I put them all in a 12×12 white pizza box with colorful crinkle paper and tied it up with yarn. I am loving yarn these days!! It is such a colorful and inexpensive addition to so many projects!

Birthday Week: Let’s Party: Make This: How to make chocolate and sprinkle coated ice cream cones

My birthday is coming up here in a few days, so I’ve been feeling like celebrating early. Here’s a quick and easy way to turn some ordinary ice cream cones into chocolate and sprinkle coated party cones! ;0

What you’ll need:

bag of chocolate melts

sprinkles

ice cream cones

Melt come chocolate melts in the microwave. Using your finger or a butter knife spread some chocolate around the top inch of the cone (or wherever you want the sprinkles to stick) and then dip the cone in the sprinkles. Place them on a baking sheet upside down and refrigerate for a few minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.

Looking for a cute and easy gift for the crafty women in your life this Mother’s Day? You can make this fun and easy gift in a matter of minutes and there’s a free printable tag to go with it!

Here’s what you’ll need:

canning jar, lid and ring

some fun buttons and thread to put inside

pins

a 6×6 inch piece of fabric

small amount of batting

1 yard of ribbon

hot glue gun

Place the batting on the top of the jar lid and glue down enough to hold it in place. glue fabric over the batting just around the edge of the lid. place fun thread and buttons inside the jar.

place the lid on top of the jar. Tighten the ring around the top of the jar and glue ribbon around it. Stick pins in the pin cushion you created on the top and affix your tag! Easy Peasy!

I made a grandma version for you too, just in case!

I am so proud to be a part of this uplifting publication. It is called a magazine, but I use that term loosely…I honestly view it as more of a keepsake. Make This: Quick and Easy Mother’s Day gift Summer Tote Bag with a handmade flower

I was rummaging through my local Target dollar bins a week or two ago and ran across this darling little straw tote…it was in the $2.50 bin…but still! I knew I could doll it up in a flash and turn it into a cute little summery tote. Wouldn’t this make mom happy this year? It’s the perfect size for her favorite books or magazines and she can head off to the pool or beach for a relaxing afternoon looking cute all the while. The best part (besides it only costing $2.50??) is that the flower and petals take only minutes to make!

There are so many great tutorials out on the web with instructions on how to make these easy, fun flowers…here’s a great one for you:

Handmade Flower Tutorial

I made mine pretty much exactly the way this tutorial describes, the only difference being that I used regular old fabric from my stash. Jersey doesn’t fray, and I like the little bit messy, fraying feel to these flowers. Finish it off with a quick petal or two cut out of felt. I did a quick whip stitch around the edge of mine with some pink and white bakers twine…but you don’t have to do that and it still looks totally cute.

Well, I did it. I finally took the plunge to FB. Thank you KBaker for your final comment that pushed me over the edge. I have been contemplating it for a LONG while now and after the urging and emails from MANY of you, I have finally decided to make the leap. The FB page definitely won’t replace the blog, but I really like the idea that I can share pics with you all instantly and add many more little details to the FB page while I’m out styling shoots, hunting for props, etc. I just like the more “real time” capabilities. Let’s Party: The Mustache Bash Birthday Party or Baby Shower

I am in love with mustaches lately. Not REAL ones..but those cute little ones that you are seeing everywhere in fun crafty forms. I think they are so cute as pops, suckers, tatoos, photo props…they are everywhere and I am loving it! I am so excited to style this next party…here’s a little hint at the new printable set and the styling that will go along with it.

My cute aunt sent me an email earlier this week. She reminded me that Teacher Appreciation week is only a week away and sent me some fun little sayings and ideas that she had…well, she knew full well that when she sent that email that I was going to have to run to the store, get some supplies, and get busy coming up with something fun! So Lani, I fully expect to see these put to good use! Here is the first of a few more to come (I hope, if I can get my act together next week!! ) I love the way this turned out and hope that you can find a use for it. The printables like usual can be downloaded for free with the link provided, and you can use ANY soda, but these cute bottles of crush were found at WalMart for only 2.68 for the 6 pack! WooHoo!!
