Everyday Life: Running

that’s exactly what I feel like I’ve been doing for the last month…RUNNING…a marathon that hasn’t stopped quite yet!

I was out of town nearly all month, by myself with the kiddos, only to come home to sickness, and the start of school. Since I’m homeschooling this year it means it’s all on me. YIKES!!! Actually, so far, so good. I have LOVED it and so has Andy. He loves the flexibility and the fun things he gets to do and has told me several times that he is so happy to be doing this. That makes it all worth it. I’ve had to scale back the things I love to do a little, but I think that I will be backup to speed shortly once both of us get into a routine. I really do love the extra time that I get to spend with him and it is so fun to watch him learn. I have had time to squeeze in a few things and here is a sneak at something I was SO excited about. In between trips I nearly worked myself into a coma getting ready for this shoot, but I think it was all worth it!

After a few calls to some amazing friends, it all came together and we got some gorgeous shots. When planning this I quickly realized my limitations and didn’t hesitate to call in the big guns. Katrina Kirk from Hello Beautiful Salon did the amazing styling. She made several trips to the “library” and made sure that everyone looked just gorgeous! Seriously folks, she is unbelieveable. TOTALLY worth the trip to Corona to get your mane tamed by this genius. If you ever need styling for ANYTHING, she is your girl.

Kamee, well what can I say. That girl can make the camera do amazing things. I knew that I would be WAY too crazy to actually be behind the camera myself, so I begged her to help me out.

And then I lucked out…because Ralph Palumbo decided to come join in on the fun. I am begging him to teach me how to use my flash…he is amazing. Be on the lookout for more of his stuff each month in Orange Coast Magazine and Coast Magazine.

I did manage to steal a few moments behind the camera…it’s torture being at a shoot like this as a photog and not being able to use your camera! I found a few quiet moments near the end when things had settled down for me to snap these…

I will have much more to share soon…I was just dying to post something since I have been letting this poor blog fall to the wayside!

Orange County Baby and Children’s Photographer: Look Who’s One!

It’s been a long time, I know. Between being out of town and then battling a slew of illnesses including, but not limited to, ear infections, sinus infections, bronchial infections and pink eye, the trips to urgent care in the middle of the night, playing nurse and recovering from traveling alone with two kiddos has about done me in!! Not to mention that I’ve been prepping for our first official day of homeschool today, making hundreds of accessories for a project that I’m VERY excited about for tomorrow (I’ll share more later!) AND getting ready to head out across the country solo with the two kids again on Wednesday…I’m wiped!!!! (I also fit making a few skirts, reorganizing a few closets, a few shoots, having a few people over for dinner, and completing my regular mom duties in the mix.) So, as you can imagine, blogging has taken a back seat. lol!!

Don’t worry. Once I get back and get settled into this whole hoeschooling thing, we will return to our regular scheduled blogging.

In the mean time, I wanted to share a little sneak of a shoot with a little girl that I LOVE. She is just darling and now she’s ONE! I can’t believe it. First birthdays are THE BEST!!! We should always be allowed to dive into our cake every year!

everyday life: at the car wash

don’t you miss the days when you felt perfectly comfortable throwing on your bathing suit and rain boots and heading out to wash your little tykes car??? THIS is why you always need your camera handy.

these are also a little proof that you don’t need photoshop to make great pictures…just a good working knowledge of your camera. these are straight out of the camera, no editing…i’m feeling lazy!! join me for the next session of {Picture Perfect} “back to school” starting August 23rd.

i got the chance to spend a fun saturday evening with this darling family. these girls are seriously the cutest…big sister wasn’t too sure about me, but little sister was sure all giggles for the camera!! how can those big brown doll eyes not capture a piece of your heart??? i’m sure glad that i have gotten the chance to get to know this great little family more over the last few months. here’s a chance for you to get to know them a little better too. enjoy!

can i say photogenic??? i was having such a hard time choosng what to share…i’ll stop here and save some suprises for mom in her gallery.

ok, i know mom has been waiting anxiously for these!!! i always think that i’m going to be able to get things up WAY before i do…wishful thinking i guess. especially during the summer when fun family and friends are popping in and out unexpectedly and life gets even crazier than normal! i hope the waiting didn’t kill you mom!! we miss you!!!! without further ado…little gavin dean….

i just love this little guy!! i can’t believe that next time i see him he’ll be so big!!! snuggle him tonight momma…they grow up too fast!!
