The photo ops were everywhere…I had to take a few minutes and capture the kids in the beautiful fields…

]]> http://www.tammymitchellphotography.com/2013/03/04/everyday-life-dont-mess-with-texas/feed/ 1 Everyday Life: A day in LA with my Girl- My Little Pony Princess Coronation Event HUB TV http://www.tammymitchellphotography.com/2013/02/20/everyday-life-a-day-in-la-with-my-girl-my-little-pony-princess-coronation-event-hub-tv/ http://www.tammymitchellphotography.com/2013/02/20/everyday-life-a-day-in-la-with-my-girl-my-little-pony-princess-coronation-event-hub-tv/#comments Thu, 21 Feb 2013 07:08:54 +0000 Tammy http://www.tammymitchellphotography.com/?p=4714 One of my favorite things about living in the greater LA area is the opportunity I have to attend unique things that you don’t find everywhere else.  A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend an invitation only event put on by HUB TV to premiere their latest pony “twilight sparkle” getting her wings and being crowned a princess.  It was a benefit for the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and a special media event for bloggers and media in the area.  Thanks to my friend Jaime, we spent the afternoon driving to the Brentwood Theater, walking the fuschia carpet, meeting Miss America and the voice of Twilight sparkle, and mingling with celebrities like Halle Berry. ;)  When we arrived they whisked Ash up to the front for a VIP seat and left her old mom behind.  Little did I know until the day after that she had been sitting by Halle Berry!  The swag bag and some ice cream at Sprinkles capped off a totally fun day for us.  ;)   And since she won’t remember going in another year or two, I had to take a bunch of pictures. ;)   Thanks HUB!

The knot in the ribbon stopped the donut holes from slipping further down the stick.  I didn’t even have time to tie the ribbon into bows, so left it at knots…and to tell you the truth…I liked it just with the knot.  It looked a little more “boy” if that makes sense! ;)  

I no joke created 25 of these bad boys in under 15 minutes.  That included finding all the supplies, cutting and tying the ribbon, and adding the donuts.  (and taking the pictures! ;)    Everything!  It was great to hear the kids’ reactions as I walked these through the halls of the school headed toward the classroom.  They just looked really fun!

These would be a great addition to any party table.  How about a brunch or baby shower, or a special valentine breakfast for your kiddos?  Add a little note that says “I love you a hole lot” and you’re set! ;)

I firmly believe that things don’t have to be expensive OR complicated to be show stopping and fun.  Most of things I do are simple and inexpensive.  They just take a little bit of time.  If you are willing to put in the time and effort, you can create something amazing! :)

I am so excited that I finally figured out imovie!! :)   I have been wanting to start posting more how-to videos for you all, but I have been a slacker in getting going with all the movie editing stuff. ;)   Not that i edit a ton…it’s just putting it all together that has me a bit confused sometimes. :)    I have had many many people emailing over the last few months about all those darling tissue paper tassel garlands that you see all over the place.  They are seriously darling and add such a fun pop of color and whimsy to any occasion.  I especially love that you can customize the colors to anything to fit your event, and even better…they are super easy and inexpensive to make!   Just to give you an idea, I usually make garlands that are about 8 feet long.  I like roughly 10 tassels on an 8 ft. garland…well, one package of tissue paper makes 12 tassels…and it is only .97 cents a package at walmart!  You can’t get any better than that! :)   I have seen them online for as much as $60.  Wow!! 

So here you go…not super professional…me in my kitchen… in my jammies. ;)   But it will show you how to make them. ;)   Enjoy! :)

Just add a little ribbon and my new “blue ribbon” looking valentine tag and you’re set! :)
