I’ll admit it…I have been listening to Christmas music for the last week. All 6 cd’s in the car…Christmas. In the house…Christmas music…on my ipod…you get the idea. I LOVE Christmas!!! So you can imagine that doing this shoot made me want it to be here even more!

When I ran across this cute little shop I just KNEW I had to share it with those of you that have little girls. These are the CUTEST skirts!! BobbityBoo (LOVE that name!!) is the vision of sweet Bobbi. In our conversations over email I can just tell that if she lived nearby we would totally hang out! She is SUPER great to work with and just makes SUCH fun stuff…she is defnintely doing her best to live up to her slogan…”do your part to make this world a cuter place to live!” See what I’m talking about…

I want to plan a hoedown just so I can have an excuse to buy that black skirt…who am I kidding, why do I need an excuse?? Something I absolutely LOVE about Bobbi is she keeps her prices EXTREMELY reasonable!! She has fun sharing her talents and recognizes that times are tough. It is amazing to me that you can get a CUSTOM HANDMADE item for less than stuff in the stores!!

I just can’t tell you HOW fun these are on!! They make for GREAT pictures! Wouldn’t they make for fun gifts. She is more than happy to make custom creation for any need you may have.

Rise and Shout

We had the chance to go to a football game this weekend down in San Diego. It was a BEAUTIFUL (but hot!!) day. Thank goodness our cheap general admission seats turned out to be the best seats in the house…in the SHADE!!

Ash doesn’t care much about the football, but hanging out with grandpa…nothing beats that!

Andy on the other hand…takes his football VERY seriously. What can I say? We start them out young in this family!!!

Singing the fight song after another Cougar touchdown…

This little cutie came all the way from Utah to cheer on her cougs. She wasn’t too sure about me but she sure loved Andy!!

When I realized Saturday morning before we left that we were seriously lacking in the little girl “football attire” department, I whipped up this headband and tank ina few minutes. Seriously…the tank was SO easy. A $3 target tank, 30cent piece of felt, some appliKay wonder, a hot iron and a zig zag stitch. You can totally do it too! Make your favorite team letter for your next sporting event! I free handed this “Y” but ou could even print one off of the internet if you wanted a perfect replica. How about creating these for the sports FANatic in your life for Christmas? Wouldn’t that be a fun, personalized, inexpensive gift? Maybe I’ll have to write up some instructions for you all…what do you think?

I have been a busy bee. Working hard to make your lives easier. I have something up my sleeve. Should I share??? I don’t know, maybe I should make you wait….

ok, I’ll spill it!! For the last two years I have been bringing you what used to be known on the old blog as “Friday Favorites” and has now become known on the new blog as “buy this.” And during the holidays, I reveal my favorite things and do 12 days of great gift ideas which is a SUPER popular feature…well…

I have teamed up with some SUPER talented and creative crafters. I am a BIG fan of homeade. I think especially at a time like this when times are tough and we focus more on what really matters homemade is even more important. Eye Candy Design: Sugar and Spice

We are fortunate to have some VERY good friends in vegas. You know, the kind that feel like family. SO, needless to say, no matter how crazy things got with IU this weekend a trip to vegas is never complete without a visit. Especially since they have added to their brood since the last time we saw them. This sweet family has been waiting a long time for some sugar and spice in their house. It’s been full of snips and snails and puppy dog tails for a long time. Mom definitely needed a little princess in her life. ;) She had dad wrapped around her little finger before she ever even made her debut. I think that’s probably how mom was able to talk him into this….

Does it get any more girly than this??? I about died when I walked in. SO cute. Every little detail was thought of…

The thing I MOST love about this darling nursery is that ANYONE can do it! One thing that has always amazed me about Skye is her amazing ability to turn garage sale treasures into beauties like these. I remember years ago in college hearing the term “garage sale-ing” john and I both thought it was hillarious and we consider Skye to be the one who coined the term and made it a verb. Seriouly though, you too can find these treasures and make them look amazing and it won;t even cost you a fortune. She found the furniture and distressed it to her liking, painted vintage frames and added fabric and bling, her mom made the bedding and check out this fun and inexpensive trick to add some drama to the bed…

simply take a frame and some super soft sheer nylon fabric and you have major drama!

My favorite part of the whole room though, was the lamp. You all know about my affinity for old books and paper, well this took it to a new level. Feast your eyes on this!

Again, an old lamp that she painted, drilled some holes in to add the crystals and then the shade…THE SHADE. YUM! There are SO many possibilities with this!! I LOVE it. This beautiful idea was the genius of an artistic friend of Skye’s, Miss Kim Johnson. It’s my understanding that if you live in the Las Vegas area you too can have her work some magic on your place.

I wish you could all see this in person. It is truly inspiring and makes you want to come home and find something fun to do to your own place!

Run, Don’t Walk

to your nearest Homegoods if you are a lover of antiques like I am. Yes, I did say antiques and I mean real ones…like from France. I was there, looking at a gorgeous piece, and my eye caught something burried back behind a bunch of other stuff…I dug it out and noticed the construction…VERY old looking, stained boards on the back…hmmmm. Then, I noticed a gold seal hammered into the side in a discreet place and about pased out when I read it “Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic Vintage” Yep, this isn’t the RA stuff from target folks!

Her boutique filed for bankruptcy lately and apparently all of her stuff is being spread out amongst HOMEGOODS stores!!! These are peices that would normally go for thousands at her shops now at homegoods prices!!!! So, I am now the proud owner of this pretty little oval drop leaf table…

Pretty cute, huh? It’s going to sit folded up next to my couch as an end table. Then when we have guests we can pull it out for extra seating for dinner. Once I get it all dressed up with some accessories I’ll show it to you.

I am ALWAYS on the lookout for super cute and more unique clothing for my little ones. Especially stuff that will photograph well…because let’s face it, if they look cute in it and it’s original then I’m more likely to be inspired to take some fun shots. Sorry for making you wait a little longer that usual for today’s post. we’ve been having a hectic week around here. all the “last few weeks of school” stuff makes you NEED a summer break so you can recover from the end of the year!!! lol!!

Why is it that all things French are SO incredibly beautiful and cool??? I just long to take a trip there strictly for photography and shopping purposes…museums, historical stuff…who cares!! Show me the shopping, restaurants and cool places to photograph!!! lol!! Just kidding…I do have a history degree, so I would be interested in that stuff too!!!

Came upon this amazing little boutique a few days ago… French Blue and Co.… hope you enjoy as much as I do!!
